MÀSCARES TANZÀNIA

Passat un any del meu retorn de Tanzània en recordo sobretot els balls i les màscares.

Vinculant la etimologia persona a màscara (del grec προσώπων) realitzo una sèrie de reinterpretacions de màscares tanzanianes sobre làmines de plàstic. Les oferiré a diferents persones que, degut a les dimensions del suport, adquiriran posicions gestuals que em recorden a les dances apreses allà. 

Posteriorment els demanaro que descriguin l'actitud del personatge en el que s'han convertit. 

 

A l'exposició, la sala passava a ser un estudi fotogràfic on cadascú sel·leccionava 

el seu nou rostre per ser fotografiat i endur-se la seva imatge per analitzar-la.

One year after comming back from Tanzania I remember mostly its masks and dances.
I reinterpretate some of the masks on plastic support, in a big enough size 

that makes the person hold it in a way it reminds me of the dances I learned there.

After taking a picture of the participants I ask them to describe the actitude of the character.

In the exhibition, the hall became a photographic studio where each one could choose one mask and will take the picture home with them to analise wich kind of personality it shows.
